Decorated Wooden Heart

Hi Friends

Where has the last month gone? I can't believe it's been that long since my last post. I put it down to being away for most of the holidays and not getting any crafting done!

Anyway I did manage to make this decorated wooden heart. I made this for myself which makes a change as normally I give most things away. Anyway I hope you like it.....

The details are:
The heart came from The Works.
The flowers mostly came from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The wooden love also came from a set from The Works which I coloured with a Promarker.
The spirals and pearls are from Aliexpress.
My favourite sentiment is an Inkylicious one and I love it!
The paper is from an old Papermania one and is 8x8.

Well I hope you all like it.
Have a great weekend.

Happy Sunday evening friends.

I've spent the weekend creating and catching up on some creations I have had to make. Also I have opened an Etsy shop here. I have so much things made up that I thought I would try and see if I can recoup some pennies! I can only but try.

Anyway I have made the following card, I haven't coloured for a while and I thoroughly enjoyed doing it, I need more practice though.

I have used the following products on this card:
Belles 'n'Whistles Elisabeth Bell Stamp
Coloured with Promarkers
Spellbinders Floral Ovals and large Oval die
Memory Box Precious Stars die
I believe the papers to be First Edition
Ribbon from stash
Pearls from stash
Wooden sentiment and stars from The Works

I hope you like the card and any comments left are always lovely to read. Have a great week ahead friends.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Penny Farthing

Hi Friends

Where has the last couple of weeks gone? I Know I was away for a week dog sitting for friends. It was good to get away from noisy neighbours and the delights of living in a tower block! Here is a pic of the lovely Rosie I was looking after. We enjoyed walking through Belfairs Woods in Leigh-on-Sea, it's lovely there and Rosie enjoyed cooling off in the brook.

Plus, now I'm home I've made a card for a challenge over on Docrafts. I enjoy joining in with the challenges on there as I find less pressure and it gives me new ideas on creating. The challenge was for the 'It's a Man's World Challenge' and the brief was to use a form of transport. Well I had this die for a while and it gave me a chance to use it. I'm really pleased with how well the card turned out (considering I hate doing men's cards.) So here it is.

The details are: Marianne Designs Penny Farthing die cut using corrugated card, then flattened through the Big Shot to give a wood effect, the happy birthday die is unbranded, the ribbon is from Kayes textiles and the pearls are from my stash.

Now I know a lot of people read my blog, and it would be good if some of you leave a kind comment. It's not compulsory though. So thank you for taking the time to take a peek. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A Clean and Simple Card

Hi Friends

It's been a lovely week here in sunny Essex. On Wednesday I went and visited the poppies at Shoebury. These are the poppies that were previously at The Tower of London. It was very poignant to see them and feel very privileged that Southend Council decided to have them here. Unfortunately, the photos I took were all blurry, I'm not the best photographer in the world. They are only here until Sunday. I found this picture to show you what I'm talking about, credit goes to Gideon Mendel

Anyway on to my card, something a bit different for me, a very CAS card, someone described it as 'classy' I can't see that myself. So here it is.

I handmade the card blank using linen card and rounded the corners, the image is from a retired Lili of the Valley art pad which I got from Ebay here, however I believe they have sold out, but they do have some other retired stamps. The frame is Dovecraft and the hello die is unbranded. I cut a circle of the house from another page and decoupaged it to give more depth, the pearls are from my stash.

I hope you like it and any comments left are lovely to read.

Have a great weekend!

ATC Friendship

Hello Friends

Well life has been a bit hectic recently and my health has taken a turn for the worse, but hey upwards and onwards as they say! I'm staying positive!

So I am trying to do different types of crafting even though making cards will always be my favourite. For the first time, I have made an ATC, I didn't have a clue what it involved, so I did a bit of research mainly using Pinterest. As part of getting back into cardmaking etc., have been involved with the forums on Docrafts. There have been a lot of changes, some not so good, but the peeps on there are so friendly and have been very welcoming.

Well this is what I made, I didn't get all inky like some people do, well not yet anyway.....

I found some lovely paper pads in my local The Range which were only £1 and they had a few different ones, which fell into my basket. The papers on the ATC is from one of them and it is sooooo lovely. I cut my ATC to size and then added the paper. I then cut the birdcage out from the same paper and then cut another in acetate which I then stuck together. I used a brad to attach to the ATC, but I wanted the cage to 'swing,' I also added a friend charm to the brad and then put it all together. Luckily there was a whole bird left from the papers so I cut around it and glued it to the cage I then added the 'hello' die and added bling. The birdcage and hello die are both unbranded and came via Aliexpress in China.

I know that the person I sent this to really liked it, which was a relief.

I hope you like my first experiment and it would be lovely to read any comments. I'll be doing more ATC's it's a great way of using scraps.

Using My Unbranded Dies

Good Morning

Well a comment was left on my last post that I hadn't used any of my dies from China from the lovely Sandy. So I thought I would share a card I made using two of the dies. One came from Ebay and the other from Aliexpress. I'm loving these dies as they are sooo cheap. I've saved so much money and have been able to buy loads at a fraction of the price that die companies are charging in the UK. Anyway here is my creation. Thank you for taking the time to look.

I love the tree die and it came from here and the owl die from here. You maybe able to get these cheaper. The ribbon is from Kayes textiles, the papers are from a cheap pad from The Range and the flowers are Papermania and the sentiment is Craftwork cards which I coloured with a Promarker.

Have a good week crafting and I'll be back later in the week.

What I would like to know, what has happened to the weather, summer it's not more like an autumn dreary day. The ingredients for the card are Lili of the Valley retired Art Pad, ribbon is from Kayes textiles, papers are First Edition, flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts, sentiment is also Lili of the Valley, Spellbinders dies and the decoration in the corners are unbranded from China.

Here is my creation, I hope you like it any comments left are always lovely to read.

Have a good week.

Cheap Dies From China

Hi Everyone

The weather has been great here in sunny Southend this week. Which means I haven't done as much crafting as I wanted to. However, I have been receiving what I call 'happy mail' from China. I found a closed group on Facebook here which has been great fun in meeting new people and posting pictures and receiving loads of advice on cheap dies and other crafting bits from Aliexpress in China. It's a fun group of people and we've had a great laugh. I had started to purchase dies from Ebay and thought they were cheap, but wow some of the prices on Aliexpress are incredibly cheap. If you don't mind waiting to receive your purchases which can take up to 2 months to arrive then go for it as they say.

I would say that some of the dies can be a bit smaller so check the sizes before you buy.

Aliexpress doesn't take Paypal, I've registered my debit card and haven't had a problem. If you are worried about this, I would suggest you buy from Ebay.

Some of the dies are copies of well know brands.

Out of all of the dies I have purchased so far, only one I have had a problem in cutting, that could be the card I used was a bit thick and the die was quite intricate.

If you have any questions you want answered about buying from Aliexpress, send me an email or leave a comment and I will do my best to answer.

I have ordered stamps sets, embossing folders and some flowers which haven't arrived yet. Once I receive them I will leave a review.

Any way here are some pics of cards and dies.

Have a great bank holiday peeps.

Hi Peeps

Well as I said in my previous post, I am getting back to this blogging lark. It's a sort of therapy for me. I suffer from severe depression, so as part of my therapy, I'm slowly getting back to crafting and part of this is to share my creations. It's been a long road to get to this position for me and I'm grateful for friends and family for their support. Anyway here is a little creation I made for no one in particular, I just enjoyed making it. Anyway folks I hope you like it. Have a great week ahead.

Hello everyone.

Well where has the time gone. I can't believe it's been so long since my last post. Well I've decided to give blogging another go. Rather that start a new blog, I'm giving this one a makeover! I gave up cardmaking for over a year as my mojo went walkabout. I didn't give up crafting altogether, I was crocheting and knitting which I did enjoy. Now, I am slowing coming back to making cards. I am surprised how much has changed and how much prices have increased!!

Anyway if you are still with me, then thank you for staying around and hopefully in the near future I'll get a few more followers.

Have a great week everyone and I'll see you all soon.
